What is PostmarkedEmail?

PostmarkedEmail is a new type of email that lets you know for certain that a message is real and safe to open.

Unlike regular email, which virtually anyone can send – and which virtually anyone can fake – PostmarkedEmail is a premium class of email available only to accredited senders. Postmarked Email is sent with a secure, tamper-proof seal and is specially labeled in the inbox – assuring you that the email is authentic and safe to open.

This unique offering was created by Epostmarks in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Service®. PostmarkedEmail adds the protections of the U.S. Postal Service Electronic Postmark® to email, proving when an email was created and when it was delivered. The Electronic Postmark also adds special legal protections to PostmarkedEmail, which are enforceable by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

PostmarkedEmail lets you know a Message is real

PostmarkedEmail eliminates the frustration of not knowing whether an email from your bank, online retailer, or non-profit is real or not – and the danger of accidentally responding to one that isn’t.

If you have an email address with AOL or Yahoo!, you don’t have to do anything special to be able to receive PostmarkedEmail – it’s built right into your email. All you need to do is look for the blue ribbon envelope icon in your inbox and the U.S. Postal Service logo in the body of the email. These icons mean the email is real, safe to open, and protected by U.S. Postal Service.

A PostmarkedEmail is valid only if you see both of the following visual trust indicators:

When you open a PostmarkedEmail, you'll see the U.S. Postal Service Electronic Postmark logo with the familiar “Eagle” icon in the body of the email. Note: to guard against fraudulent use of the U.S. Postal Service logo, be sure the blue ribbon envelope is in your inbox – Epostmarks will never send PostmarkedEmail that is not Certified by Goodmail Systems.
