Epostmarks Introduces PostmarkedEmail to Global Postal Industry

ROCHESTER, NY, September 26, 2007 – Epostmarks announced today the executive team’s planned attendance at Post-Expo 2007 in Barcelona, Spain on October 2, 3, and 4 to introduce PostmarkedEmail, a new class of email that brings the trust of your mailbox to your inbox. PostmarkedEmail is an email authentication solution that combines technology with the brand power, legal significance, and enforcement capabilities of Posts throughout the world to help businesses recover the email channel.

Initially launched in the United States in partnership with the US Postal Service, PostmarkedEmail utilizes the Electronic Postmark® (EPM®) – known outside of the US as an Electronic Postal Certification Mark (EPCM) – to bring postal authority and trust to email. This unique offering provides guaranteed delivery of messages, proof of delivery, and a trusted icon in the inbox that signals to the user that the email is legitimate and safe to open. PostmarkedEmail provides proof of sender identity, message integrity, and sender reputation in one integrated solution.

At Post-Expo, Epostmarks is looking to expand internationally by partnering with posts, postal partners, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and email service providers (ESPs) worldwide. Posts in several countries already offer electronic registered mail or e-billing systems protected by the EPCM, and others have expressed serious interest in developing EPCM programs that will further expand our potential market. PostmarkedEmail enhances these systems by adding guaranteed delivery to the customer’s existing email inbox. Using PostmarkedEmail, posts are able to expand their service offerings to penetrate the lucrative transactional email and marketing email segments.

In addition to exhibiting PostmarkedEmail for the first time, the executive team is scheduled to participate in workgroups covering the modern postal brand, postal business strategies, and going digital.

“We have a strong partnership with the US Postal Service, and hope to lay the groundwork for partnerships with posts from around the world at this event,” says Jason Curtis.

Epostmarks – One local business thriving with help of county

epostmarks

Epostmarks is focused on fighting the spam and phishing problem that exists in e-mail today. Phishing is when a fraudulent e-mail is sent under the guise that it is from a legitimate source, all to obtain personal information from the recipient. "We're in a very hot industry sector where there's a major problem that needs to be solved," said Curtis.

The company got started in Rochester in 2002 and they say there is no better place to tackle the international market then right here. "Businesses like ours have to be a lot more competitive," said Curtis. "You have to do more with less and we find that being here benefits us and that pursuit."

Epostmarks is part of The Entrepreneurs Network, a group created by the county to help small businesses connect with the resources they need to thrive and grow. Monday, the County Executive said Epostmarks is a success story. "These are the type of success stories we need to duplicate to create more jobs, remain on the cutting edge of technology and innovation, and enable to region to compete more effectively in the global economy," Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks said. "Small business is the backbone of our economy in Rochester and Monroe County," said Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy. "The small business that we experience have done extraordinary work for our local economy."

For the founders of Epostmarks, they say the county's help has proved invaluable.

"It takes a community to build jobs business that creates jobs so you do that as a group."

Epostmarks – A new name for a revolutionary new idea

PeerConnect, Inc. announces new name Epostmarks to better reflect business strategy.
Rochester , NY – September 28, 2006 – Jason Curtis , CEO of Epostmarks, Inc., announced today a corporate name change from PeerConnect, Inc. After launching a new business strategy approximately one year ago the Epostmarks product has become the dominant focus of the business. “Changing the name of our organization unifies a consistent identity and message both internally and externally” Jason remarked “it places a stake in the ground and focuses us on the road ahead.”

Epostmarks is a new, trusted class of email protected by the United States Postal Service. An ePostmark is a secure cryptographic email receipt verifying the who, what and when of an email. By affixing an ePostmark to an outgoing email the sender is proclaiming that they are a good net citizen and they will abide by a strict set of usage policies.

The only way to get an Epostmarks account is to go through a rigorous accreditation process that investigates sending practices. Also, as part of the application process a sender must agree to abide by all laws including CAN-SPAM. If a sender breaks the rules they will be removed from the program and face possible prosecution by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

PeerConnect presents Epostmarks to the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) Global Postal Community

Rochester, NY, March 30, 2006 - PeerConnect, Inc., today announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Michael Wolf presented the PeerConnect Epostmarks™ email authentication service to the Universal Postal Union TELEMATICS COOPERATIVE - Advanced Electronic Services User Group representing the International Posts. The presentation included a live demonstration of the Epostmarks solution. The Epostmarks solution is currently protected by the USPS® Electronic Postmark® Service in the United States, but is designed to be compatible with other post's EPM services as well, making it a global solution to the global problems of phishing and spam. The presentation explained to the Posts the significant opportunity that they have to develop new sources of revenue for their "Trust Services" divisions that leverages their investment in their Electronic Postmark systems. EPM systems are currently available in Canada, France, Portugal, and Italy with numerous other systems in development. The convergence of the trend towards offering EPM services by posts and the huge potential market size of the email authentication market creates an immediate unique opportunity for the Posts that are interested in offering "electronic trust services". It was explained that combining a global shift in Internet commerce with a proven market need with the legal standing and brand recognition of the Posts creates a serious 21st Century revenue producing opportunity. The demonstration showed how the Posts could use PeerConnect's solution to capture this unique opportunity.

A live demo of the Epostmarks solution was also given that showed the ePostmark certification, proof of delivery, verification, and Epostmarks in the Inbox. A sample of how Epostmarks are used in the banking industry for bill presentment by Striata, a global Electronic Billing software and Managed Services provider was included.
